Michele Hampton

Michele Hampton is a life long resident of Sun Valley Idaho. She was born in Miami, later moving to Telluride, CO and first came to the Wood River Valley in 1977. After a couple years of adventure in Jackson Hole, Chamonix and Boulder she made Sun Valley her permanent home in 1982.

Michele's passions and talents include winter sports, kitesurfing, hiking and camping, fly fishing, art, photography and gardening. Her professional career has centered on private gardening and the outdoor retail industry but also includes woodworking, catering and restaurant work. Her current artistic focus is on both wooden and metal tables. Several of her pieces employ the techniques of Shou Sugi Ban - The Japanese Art of Charred wood. Additionally Michele enjoys landscape, wildlife and macro photography and her works and prints are available upon request.

Tractor Wheels and Tumbleweeds was conceived by her love of Idaho, rural landscapes and the history of the mountain west. The materials she works with, wood, metal and plants are crafted into distinctive and original tables and other artistic objects.  Her silver painted, decorative tumbleweeds are lit by tiny blue LED's shedding a unique and beautiful glow to a space.

If you would like a private viewing of her tables and or like framed or unframed "digital silver imaging" prints of any of her images please call or write the address listed in the "Contact" section. Michele would be happy to show you her tables and other artistic works.
